Traveling Geology Tour Road

Trek Date: August 24, 2015

August is generally hot at JTree, and the 24th of August, 2015 was no exception. But sometimes it's nice to experience the extremes, as long as you're prepared for them. That said, I think I prefer the cold extremes over the hot ones....

One nice thing about visiting the park when the temps are near 100°  --  there aren't very many visitors; you've almost got the place to yourself. Which is nice. Which also might be bad if you collapse from heat stroke and there's no one around to find you.... So, be prepared, whatever the weather, but especially when it's hot.

I was on the GT road to make a short film with my new GoPro camera. The 18-mile tour travels through some fascinating landscape and generally takes about two hours to complete, if you stop at all 16 points of interest along the way. This video shows a few of those stops, I'll be making another one which will include all the stops, once the weather cools down a bit.

Please take a look and comment! If you'd like to read a more in-depth post about the Geology Tour Road, which includes information on all of the stops along the route, click HERE.
